We envision a reduced level of Period Poverty in South Africa. To influence the misconceptions around menstruation. To educate young women about menstruation. To leave every girl proud to become a woman.

The main contributing factor to Period Poverty is a lack of affordability as 32.9% of the South African population is unemployed, and of those who are employed, 75% earn less than R5800 per month.

The mission of the Period. initiative is to provide sanitary pads to schools and community centres in underprivileged areas so that women who cannot afford to purchase sanitary pads can have access to them for free.
We also want to allow the overall public to be able to seamlessly contribute towards alleviating Period Poverty by having a single portal through which to make donations.
